Why? For fun, to start with, as many storied blogger paths to stardom begin. That's when you have the brilliant idea to start up a U-Tube career. If the point is to make them look just like everyone else on the platform, then it's certainly doing a good job in that respect.įrom the beginning, it's just you and your mother, with little cash to speak of, hardly any decorations in your room save for a Zelda-centric bedspread and a meager shelf, and your closet. There are other clothing options you can purchase later on, but you'll be disappointed by the overall lack of personalization there is for your U-Tube star. You can select which gender you want to play as, your hair style and color, and a few other rudimentary options, but there's not a lot to speak of. You can create a custom character, though you can't change much about them. From here, you'll grow your YouTube (sorry, U-Tube) career into something that'll propel you through the ranks, to where you're racking up cash, serving face at industry events, and earning views like no one's business. You start out with nothing more than a computer, a bedroom, and a dream. With additional polish, it could be a fun, casual affair – but in its current state, it's little more than a quirky way to experience 15 minutes of fame on a virtual platform with far too many technical issues to forgive.
With that said, it's actually a far more engaging sim than you might be expecting. Well, you'll need to play a different game than Youtubers Life OMG Edition, because it's about the idyllic YouTuber profession, not the reality it's turned into.
